Create something tonight.
You either create or consume. Both have their place. Tonight, let creating win.
Find your pencils and bring some colour to this canvas. By the end of the evening there is a thing in front of you that did not exist this morning, and it came out of your hand.
Then you turn it over, write to somebody, and put it in the post.
Three steps
- Think of someone. Before the pencils come out. Write their name on the back, lightly. Now it is for them.
- Bring the colour. There is no wrong way to do this. An hour, your hand, your choices. Nobody else would have made it quite like that.
- Send it. Four lines on the back, and into the post. Intention and time cannot be faked, and the person opening it will feel exactly how much of both went in.
Why finishing is the point
Anything can be bought and couriered the same day, and the person receiving it knows that. An hour of your attention cannot be bought, borrowed or rushed.
What you put in shows. That is the whole of it. Someone who cared gave their time and their intention to bring colour to a blank card, and the person holding it can tell.
